Not long now!

We are getting really excited ... it is only a few days to go before we have our Production!  We are looking forward to transforming ourselves into African animals for a dance! We hope you will come along  and enjoy our performance. Thank you so much to all the people who have helped us to create awesome looking costumes!

Congratulations to these wonderful children who received our REACH awards today. These children are truly showing our Ashley School values! Well done.

REACH

We are so proud of these children who got the first special awards  for showing our REACH values at Ashley School.

We show lots of our REACH values when working together at Discovery Time. We especially like helping each other and trying new things.  Check out just some of the choices on offer today.
Pretty painted peacocks, brilliant paper  boats, beautiful baby birds and building our own dinosaurs!

We also celebrated the achievements of these clever children who have been super readers and writers. Another step up on our Peaks of Achievement !

We love Buddy Reading! We love Discovery Time!

We have new buddies  from  Room 5!
We are really loving reading to each other on a Friday afternoons!
We get to choose books from our browser boxes and just  read, read, read!
We help each other when we get stuck!

We have so much fun at Discovery Time.
We love collaborating with Room 6 and we always get lots of good ideas and help from each other!
We love choosing different ideas to explore our creative sides and are very focussed when we do!
Check out this quality work:

Drawing symmetrical animal pictures.  Awesome job Jorja-Rose!
Perfect penguins!- You listened so carefully to the instructions Lexie and Sophie! Quality work!
Creative dragonflies made from spoons! Well done Caden!

We also loved making up our own versions of "The 3 billy goats gruff" and "The 3 little pigs"

Whew!  What a busy and happy classroom!

Royalty, Maths and More!

Royalty came to visit Room 7 last Friday! We had fun making crowns and shields  and enjoyed eating 'posh' jam sandwiches!

Over the last few weeks for topic maths we have been learning about how to copy, continue and create patterns .  Check out some of  the cool patterns we created for these Stegosaurus.
Can you work out each of these patterns?

Later we put on our white thinking hats to find out facts about Stegosaurus.  We used books and the internet to find out the answers to some of our questions:
What were their plates and spikes used for?
How big were they?
What did they eat?
How did they move?
How did they protect themselves?
Did they travel in herds?

We are discovering that paleontologists are learning new things about dinosaurs all the time and that sometimes they change their minds  when they find new information!

Do you know any more facts about Stegosaurus?
