Thank you!

Teamwork is so important at Ashley School.
It takes lots of people working together to help our learning!
We are hoping that with teamwork we will be able to turn just a  few potatoes into lots of potatoes by planting them and growing more!
Thanks to Mrs Robinson and Reg (our school caretaker)  we have new soil in the school gardens.    The children, with the help of Judi and Lachlan's Mum, Shenna, measured, dug , planted and covered the potatoes.
Mrs Standen helped  us by watering  them after school and Reg  is so kind he has also offered to water them over the holidays. Thanks Reg!
I can't wait to see them grow!
We will have to take good care of them!

Today was also Room 6 and 7s shared lunch.
It was wonderful  to see so many people come along!
Thank you for all your help throughout the year.  We really appreciate it.

We wish you a very happy and safe holidays!

What a huge day!

Today was pet and craft day at Ashley School.
During the  morning we all got creative making sand-saucers and vegetable objects.  We were very good at sharing our  saucers, flowers, vegetables and foliage. We were so proud of our efforts.
In the afternoon our pets came to school for judging. We were judged on our knowledge of  our pet and  how we care for them.

Thank you Mums, Dads and grandparents for all your help getting organised for the day !

Fractions and Numbers fun

Fractions can be fun, did you know that??

We have broken crackers, chocolate biscuits and playdough into halves and quarters this week.

As we had the play dough out and loved how it felt we started showing each other the many different ways we could make a number.

We realised that numbers can be shown in 3D ways.

So many different ways!

Good practice to get our numbers the correct way round too.

Well done us!!

We are creative!

We are so proud of the quality of work we are creating at Discovery Time.
We  love getting our photos taken when we produce excellent work and sharing them
with you on the blog.

Look at our awesome ninjas and spooky spider masks!
Fantastic ghostly cards for Halloween!
Frightful hair! Perhaps they saw our spooky cards and masks!

Thank you Lewis for getting these Minions organised for everyone.
They were so popular we had to photocopy more!

Thank you also to Fynn, Eden and Maisie from Room 6 who got this cool card idea from their reading ready for us this week!

Keep practising for our Junior Athletics next  Friday.

Reading! Reading! That's What we Love to Do!

Oh yes we do!!!

We have read so much already this term.

A book everyday.

Book covers.

Bookmarks.

Bookworms.

We could probably read books standing on our heads I think.

We started book week off with a story about JAM. The Giant Jam Sandwich to be exact.

We made Jam Sandwiches to eat while we read the book and made our own display of sticky Jam and bread with ooey gooey wasps and bugs stuck on them. You must pop in to see them.

Here are some of our Bookmarks.....

Zak and Matthew made Robots after reading a great book about them.

Of course I'm not at school the rest of the week. But I have seen some photos in the Office that look amazing!! I can't wait to chat to all the Room 7 children about their fun BOOK WEEK parade.

Now don't forget the Read Your Way to Christmas Race this term!!!

I hope you are having and have had a fantastic long weekend folks.
